Immediate Kit: Teeth Whitening System

A specially designed kit to be used at home, for effective results.

The custom mouthpiece produced with the Immediate System is the latest in whitening technology. Unlike boil & bite mouthpieces supplied by other companies, the Teethwhite Immediate mouthpiece shrinks as it cools, to fit as accurately as a laboratory mouthpiece.

As the name suggests, our Immediate System allows you to begin whitening straight away.

The kit contains 5 cartridges of 16% Rapid Strength whitening gel, which will last the user around 15 months if used as directed.

Results will occur, in most cases, after 2 treatments and the whitening process is normally complete after 6 treatments. The other 9 treatments are normally used as top-ups to maintain the whiteness at the desired level.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

* What is tooth whitening?

Tooth whitening is a highly effective way of lightening the natural colour of your teeth without adversely affecting any of the tooth's surface. It can make a huge improvement to your smile.

* Why would I need my teeth whitened?

There are a number of reasons why you might wish to get your teeth whitened. Everyone is different, and just as our hair and skin colour vary, so do our teeth. Very few people have brilliant white teeth, and our teeth can also become more discoloured as we get older.

Your teeth can also be stained on the surface through food and drinks such as tea, coffee, red wine and blackcurrant. Smoking can also stain teeth.

Tartar can also affect the colour of teeth. Some people may have staining under the surface, which can be caused by certain antibiotics such as Tetracycline.

* How do I use the Teethwhite system?

The system comes complete with all the components necessary to produce the Immediate Custom Mouthpieces. Once you have your mouthpieces, whitening gel is inserted into them and they are placed in your mouth. The gel will spread evenly over each tooth. The mouthpieces are worn, at your convenience, until the desired level of whitening is reached.

* How does it work?

Teethwhite's whitening gel will remove most stains with a gentle sustained release action which oxidises (bleaches) stains within your teeth. Throughout the process the tooth structure remains unchanged. The active ingredient penetrates the enamel and acts on the dentine inside to break down organic deposits into smaller lighter particles which lighten the overall colour of the teeth.

* How long will the results last?

The effect of most whitening treatments will last for at least 6 months. Depending on lifestyle, it could last for up to 2 years. Teethwhite's kits contain enough whitening gel to last most users 15 months (if used as directed). Around 50% of the gel contained in each kit will allow users to reach the desired level of whiteness and this usually occurs within the first two weeks. The other 50% is available for top up applications to maintain the whiteness. Individual characteristics and lifestyles will determine the required frequency of top up applications, although Teethwhite has found that wearing the mouthpiece overnight once a month is enough.

Although the kit will last for approximately 15 months, the whiteness will last a lot longer.

Top up packs of gel are also available for once the gel in the kit is used up.

* When can I expect to see results?

Most people see results after only two or three applications. The desired level of whitening is often reached within 7-10 days of beginning to whiten. That said, individual characteristics and lifestyle will ultimately determine the speed of results.

* Will the Teethwhite system work for everyone?

The system is most effective on healthy, unrestored teeth. Continued use will achieve the desired results and where bad staining has occurred the teeth can lighten as much as eight shades. Although surface stain removal will occur on most artificial dental products (ie crowns bridges etc), they will not lighten any more than their original colour.

* Can I wear my mouthpiece overnight?

Teethwhite actually recommends that you wear your mouthpiece overnight, as less saliva is produced whilst we are sleeping.

* How many applications should I get out of one cartridge of whitening gel?

You should be able to dispense 6 treatments (3 upper and 3 lower) from each gel cartridge.

* Is it safe?

Over a decade of clinical research in the USA indicates that teeth whitening is completely safe. However, Teethwhite recommends that pregnant women, nursing mothers and anyone taking any form of medication consult their GP prior to whitening their teeth.

* I have bought many over-the-counter treatments and they have not worked. Why is Teethwhite any different?

The active ingredient in Teethwhite is Carbamide Peroxide which is a bleaching agent. Most over-the-counter treatments contain little or no bleaching agents and therefore they have poor results. Some over-the-counter treatement can be abrasive and therefore damaging to teeth. This is not the case with Teethwhite products.

* Is the gel you offer the same as that I would get at my dentist?

Yes, exactly the same.

* What does the gel taste like?

The gel has a subtle mint flavour which is quite pleasant.

* Can my son/daughter use it?

It depends on their age. We advise persons under 16 yrs old not to whiten their teeth unless they are under the supervision of a dentist.

* I have slight tooth sensitivity in a couple of my teeth. Is this normal?

Temporary sensitivity is quite common. As your teeth become accustomed to the gel you will notice less sensitivity. You can treat sensitivity by placing a small amount of de-sensitising toothpaste, such as Sensodyne, into your mouthpiece and wearing it for around 15 minutes prior to whitening.

All sensitivity should cease when you are not whitening your teeth.

* Apart from sensitivity, are there any other side effects?

There have been reports of discomfort in the gums, a sore throat or even white patches on the gum line, but these are all very rare. These symptoms are temporary and should disappear within a few days of ceasing whitening.

* I have a crown. Will your prodcut whiten my crown?

Stain removal may occur on artificial dental products, but they will not whiten any more than their original colour. As the other teeth lighten gradually you can choose to cease whitening, or you can continue whitening and have your crown replaced to match your new whiter smile.

* Can a single tooth which has had root canal treatment be whitened?

Yes. Many dead teeth discolour after a root filling. If the tooth has been root treated, the canal (which previously contained the nerve) may be reopened. The whitening product is applied working from the inside to whiten the tooth. Consult your dentist for further details of this treatment.
